I started riding my 24″ wheeled Schwinn mountain bike when I was 17 years old. My short (2 mile) ride gradually increased as I tried to get into shape for fall basketball season. After becoming hooked on the freedom of two wheels, I bought my first full suspension mountain bike and started riding the local single track. Two broken wrists later, I found myself doing my first mountain bike race in the spring of 2005. That year was my first year racing, both road and mountain bikes. After my first season, I realized what I wanted to do with cycling. I moved to Colorado in 2007 to attend Colorado State University and train.
This year I am racing for the LipSmacker Professional Women’s Cycling team based out of Boulder, CO. It is my first year on a professional team. We are doing lots of traveling, racing, and having fun. I am enjoying the season so far. In March, I was given the opportunity to go to France and race for the USA National Development squad. It was a great experience. I am thankful for everyone who has helped me get to where I am today and everyone who continues to support me. I couldn’t do it without any one of you. Cycling is a great sport and I am proud to be a part of it as it continues to grow.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
